Found one on the dead body of the unfortunate survivor who happened to run into our group at NW Airfield (yes, we KoS, because we're scared little girls when it comes to DayZ).

Is there any use to it?

I think a radio can be good. When strangers run into together and form a group, they can use radio as a communication tool.
