Motivation for being a bandit?

Recommended Posts

Mine is pretty simple, I do it simply for supplies in desperate measures, or as a safety precaution. I KOS with most people, but I have a few rules, I will not kill someone who has no supplies, as I said, I kill only for supplies or safety, and if they have no supplies or a weapon, then they fulfill none of those requirements, I also don't kill anyone who is being chased by a zombie, that is just too much of a dick move for me, plus if I kill them, I have to worry about the zombies near their corpse. What about you guys?

I kill for fun. It provides me with pleasure and enjoyment. I don't care if you're a newbie or a pro bandit; if I see you - I kill you.

I murder for fun, Motivation? changed from friendly to KoS due to all the noobies who use to shoot everyone even who spawned, Started killing anyone we saw incase they became a later threat to us. Turned into a bandit because i started to find it fun, and the thought that so many people come QQing on the forums about being killed by bandits.

It depends on how i feel that day, but if you have any supplies i will KOS but if you have no weapon then your left alone, unless your up north or trying to steal items from a building im heading to.

I am not offically a bandit yet but most players have forced me into a KOS state. I have run into a few friendlies before I hooked up with my RL friends. Trusting people is often a deadly mistake.

I do not go out of my way to kill people only when someone is a threat (brandishing weapon) or I am in a high threat location like the NW Airfield.

Thank you for the link, Toros. Your depth of knowledge on such advanced and intellectual subjects such as the prisoner's dilemma is truly impressive.

I started off with the idea that I would spare people who didn't shoot at me, and maybe help them. Having not seen a single one of those people, I now shoot on sight. I'll admit, my first 2 murders, I could have let the guys go. But there were three of them, and one of me. So they got sniped before they could find me.

I like the idea of just sneaking away from people, and leaving them be. Sometimes I do it just to see if I am sneaky enough to pull it off. But if they are actively looking for me or my team. I'll start shooting as soon as I think I can get away with it.

I guess I do it, as preemptive self defense....

But of course. I simply appreciate the way you took the time to educate us laymen.

Bandits don't exist, almost everyone shoots on sight now because it's not worth the risk not to.

It is a risk to be sure. Educated laymen can be problematic. They might catch on to what's going on, and then where would we be?

My Motivation? I don't like running around everywhere gathering supplies. Why should I when theres all these people with so much good stuff just a bullet away? Less running from zombies, less getting shot at, just a peaceful day, laying in the sun, lazily gazing at a city with a pair of binoculars.

I started Banditing after taking fire in the NW airfield, I was sick of getting shot at and made my first two kills later that day. The first I took down with a silenced M4, when that ran out of ammo, I killed the other literally 2 minutes later with a snapshot from a Lee Enfield from 5 meters away.

Ultimately though, who would you rather be, the man behind the gun or the man staring down a barrel?

The answer should be obvious...

My motivation is self preservation and keeping my needs above others. I do not kill needlessly or without provocation but in some areas like the airfield or stary I do.

More of a scavenger than a bandit but I kill or steal when needed. I find cars often and take them until I lose them in some manner.

I generally avoid. If contact is unavoidable, I disable. If that is not good enough (they are very close, I do not have the upper hand) I usually go for the stun type ordeal, rise out of brush in front of them holding a flashlight.

Some will shoot me, but I duck back down and rollll. Some will be shocked, giving me time to state my intentions (generally getting them the hell out of there) and some will run. If they run, I blow off their legs and rob them.

Killing a bandit was the most joyfull experience in the game so far. Enjoyable enough to continue the hunt.

I met two guys on top of the radio tower on the airfield close to cherno. One of them had a hatchet, the other was unnarmed. They told me over mic "friendly, don't shoot please we are unnarmed. We need a can of beans". I traded the unnarmed guy a can of food for a soda. Now guess what happens when I'm walking down the stairs again? The second guy with the hatchet hid under the stairs while I traded the other. On my way out later, hatchet in the back, dead.

I will never trust random people again.

i think most people how says there not bandits are just as bad... even the people that say waaaaah a bandit killed me most likely like people who shoot first and ask later.
