Sicknesses in 1.0

Recommended Posts

Which sicknesses are implemented in the game now and how do I cure them? I have the sickness status in the bar and my character vomits some times but I have no idea why. I consumed no pondwater or raw meat.

I'm aware of two - the one you get from pondwater, and the 'cold'.

I caught the former from bad water. I got a sickness symbol, but my health didn't go down. The symbol vanished after a couple of hours, with no action taken by me (although I was en route to a medical centre in any case...)

The causes of the 'cold' seem more obscure, and its effects more persistent. It also appears to be contagious between players. Codeine and antibiotics might work, but the jury's still out on that.

Codein seems to be the winner of the cold battle though I haven’t tested it yet. I’d have thought multivitamins would resolve it or maybe even protect from it... maybe it’s an absence of multis that makes you more susceptible to colds.

It’s a thought.

I wonder if there is a "resistance" mechanic, such that eating nothing but tac bacon is going to make your chances of contracting something that much greater.... Not entirely joking.

It wouldn’t surprise me- however the fact that such a mechanic is working properly might.
