New weapons spawning mechanic for 1.0?

Recommended Posts

Folks - just wondering if it's the sudden uptick in server pops, or if they've reverted to a previous algorithm for loot spawn mechanics. You all may recall, long long ago, in a Slavic countryside far far away, one could only find M4's and high-value military loot like silencers at helicopter crashes. While AKM's (ahem, KA-M's) and other Soviet-era weapons could be found in places like NWAF and Vybor.

I fear I've been spoiled by 0.63 and how easy it was to hunt down an assault rifle. Thus far in 1.0 I miss being able to find an AK at Stary Sobor or one of the military roadblocks. At this point, I've only seen the MP5 and UMP.

Anyone hear anything worth sharing? Are Assault weapons and silencers still spawning in the small military locations?

Drop in on one and ask the crowd ? - My impression is the economy has changed  across the map.

I wouldn't ask if I wasn't coming up empty-handed. It's simply a matter of play style. If the high-value loot is rare again, I'm just curious. 0.63 was nothing if not chock-full of fully geared players.
