You are over encumbered. Odds are it was a can of food, box of ammo. Something in the 1-6 weight range that did it.

Drop some less than important items one by one and jump, see if it works

I died because of this. I was looting military tents up near staroye and got greedy. Suddenly two guys appeared and flanked me and all I could do was walk to cover! Toooo slow! I always travel light now.
