bows and rifles

I've noticed that I can't place an improvised bow and a rifle on my back,although i can put a rifle and wood ax or rifle and stick,is this a new thing? ,never had this problem before not that i can remember?.Also tried to loot chicken coop for feathers,was not able to inventory,also I guess you can't sharpen sticks with an ax anymore?

A bow is not a melee weapon. You can have one projectile weapon and one melee weapon. That is how it has always been.

You can get 1 feather at a time from a chicken coop, the same as picking apples. and the stone knife is your friend,
