Sounds nice, but just so stupid. I think this is never going to happen as what good, because the game from the goal of survival. Perhaps there will be times mods enter the quests, but in the pure version better not. Yes very realistic quests-Journey, such as hearing about a crash site full of ammo, guns etc.. or a hidden entrance that survivors made, but abandoned some time ago. To find a lost family member, your journey never ends. To find something quests, rewards =survival. To explore quests, rewards =new survival spots. really only so many rewards anyone gets from survival type games. You stay alive, but the population, and infected will not allow you to survive for long. So right now, you are exploring the world, trying to survive and find out you just scored by looting a tent. Well that will all change once the "Real" Population starts back to dayz, when it is completed.
