Server Weather

Recommended Posts

Is there any way you can see what sort of weather a server is having prior to joining? My character is shaking after a bout of coldness and I logged on to the last server I played, and it's experiencing very heavy rainfall. Needless to say, if I knew they would be the conditions I would not have logged on but gone to another server. It shows time of day, perhaps a column that says Rain, Overcast, Sunny etc. would be a good addition.

I disagree. Surviving in Chernarus should involve having the wherewithal to get through a range of different weather conditions, and players should not be able to control that.

I would have to disagree too. I believe that the developers are doing a good job of keeping DayZ as far away from 'easy mode' as possible. We can't control the weather where we are in real life, so I do not believe that we should be able to pick and choose a server with anything more than the servers name, ip, time of day, etc.

This would be better as a suggestion. It's not a bad idea. We can see time of day, why not weather too? I suppose a downside would be that players would hop on and off servers more frequently. Servers empty when it turns to night because players can easily find a daytime server - so something similar might happen with weather. That only really affects public servers, though.
