Woody2 25 Posted March 12, 2016 As I'm fairly new to the game, I've still got some way to go to understand what's going on in the server. I check my logs (albeit the broken ones) regularly, but I'm not altogether sure what I'm looking for. Server hoppers are pretty easy to spot, but some player behaviour is less easy to explain. Is there a guide anywhere for server owners/admins to know what they are looking for in the logs? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
sneakydude 480 Posted March 12, 2016 Not yet, hold in as it will be explained and logs become available. If you let cheating run through your mind you will always believe you have cheaters ruining your server. So dont, unless you start to interact with those players start up shadowplay and record the event. Then ban them and report. Otherwise you ban someone incorrectly and you will become the approached. [DGN] Johnny 115 Posted March 12, 2016 (edited) My personal intentions, if we ran a server would be... 1. Really crazy names like "fgfgfhfhfg" 2. A fair warning to anyone caught with an M4 atm, most likely posted on the server message. 3. A Good connection with reputable and honest Admins that are active in the Pvp Scene. It's pretty easy to tell when someone hacks, if you've pvp'd for a bit. I've watched wall walkers, been killed by invisibles, and even seen a Cherno EMP disconnect everyone but the hacker in a radius around Cherno. Then it's just a matter of refering to the kill logs and banning when necessary. Just all about finding those guys who love the game, and wouldn't abuse it especially if in doubt. Would definitely depend on some really good evidence though, and maybe a talk with their leadership to see if they even care about weeding that stuff out of their ranks.
