Problems with in game chat

I have played for a while but i have never been able to get my in game chat to work. kinda sucks because no one trusts me cause i cant talk. any ideas?

I use a web cam as my mic right now so could that be the problem? works with other voice programs (vent, ts, ect)

Go to your task bar and on the bottom right click on the Speaker icon. Go to recording devices and select your Webcam and click "Set Default". Next, right click your webcam mic and select properties. Go to levels and make sure it isn't turned all the way down. Depending on your Mic, 100% could be too loud so try 75% and test it. If its an acceptable volume click apply and ok. Close out of the window.

Yup it seemed to work tested it and friends said it worked.

Just because it works in windows or speak programs doesn't mean it works. In Steam theres a setting for speech, go to it and test, If you hear yourself it will work ingame.

we tested it in game. left TS and just went through the game and it worked.

Peope need to check their volume though. I can barely hear some people ingame and my friend shot one, because he was getting impatient with our communication. I'm thinking of handing people a radio in the future, see if that yields better results, plus not everyone will hear us (that far). Also, you can type with _. That's always an option and better than silenced or muffled mics.

yeah they said the volume was pretty good. probably could turn it up a little bit.
