Now I know this has no use for anything, but there must be a mission editor in DayZ, is there any way to access it to just mess around and test stuff?

Of course, there isn't. You have to wait til they release the modding tools when DayZ hits Beta.

He doesn't have to pay them what-so-ever to get one. He just has to wait a while.
