Banditry holdup tips – Identifying the red flags in a hostage attempting to buy time for backup

Recommended Posts

Was on the hunt at NWAF in the goal in capturing armed players. Was quite lucky in spotting a target and going for the capture. But things don't go as smooth as planned and the hostage is too silent... His friends are coming and I'm running out of time.  Here is a perfect example of a player buy time for a daring rescue and how to counter such tactics.

I'm surprised you didn't shoot him sooner.

Well played.

I prefer them to be alive, if I can help it. Some people are actually new to the game thus I'm more patient, but as time dragged on. It was becoming more and more obvious he was just buying time.

We've been encountering this type of behavior more often lately and don't hesitate to pull the trigger when someone's spidey senses are going off. With that said, we'd rather not kill folks who are just flailing during their first hold up.

It does make me wonder- you sound an awful lot like a guy who held me up in Zelenegorsk awhile ago...  in one of the military barracks. I bolted and whoever it was came after me not realizing that I had a friend there.

May or may not have been you- but it was very familiar and this video reminded me of it.

Thanks for the vid either way- one of your earlier vids really helped us analyze behaviour and respond to it more effectively and safely.
