r4nger 17 Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) I came into a great idea. What do you thing about having a blood type compatibilty chart written on a back of the First aid kit?My idea is that when you inspect it and rotate it, you should see this chart. This should help many players, because currently this feature is unused.See attachments for chart. And if someone can make a screenshot with a chart like this on a back of a current model, I'd be happy to see it. energeticsheep 95 Posted December 17, 2015 Honestly the best suggestion I've read in a while. +
HaseDesTodes 315 Posted December 17, 2015 i don't think adding this will greatly improve how oteen blod bags are used imho the greater problem is that you can't write on bloodbags what type of blood they contain, so you can't realy store multiple types in one container for later use and that you have to take blood from someone before is a small nuissance as well, because you will have to capture someone first or take it from a friend, that will need to regain that blood first on the other hand understanding how blood types work should take average intelligent people max 15min
r4nger 17 Posted December 17, 2015 Writing tags to your blood bag is as far as I know confirmed feature.
HaseDesTodes 315 Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) Writing tags to your blood bag is as far as I know confirmed feature. confirmed as in "it will come" or as in "its already in"? i have to admit, that i didn't try to do it in 0.59 but either way, you should't need that once you understand how this works: your blood type is determined genetically. on each of your blood cells are certain protein structures of differnt types A,B and Rh (all the same on every bloodcell from a person) you can only receive blood that does not contain any types you dont have yourself (if you only have A you must not recieve blood with B or Rh) if you receive blood that you shouldn't have received, your body will produce antibodys that attack that blood cells and your blood will agglutinate and your blood circulation can stop. the letters in the blood say which types of structures you got. A and B are self-explanatory, 0 means neither A or B,+ means you got Rh and - means you don't have Rh. AB+ got all 3 (can receive all 3, but can only donate to AB+) 0- got none (can donate to everyone, but can only receive 0-) simple as that, no chart on medkit needed edid fiexed typos and added some more examples Edited December 17, 2015 by Hasi
OnionOfShame 138 Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) I agree that something line this isn't necessarily needed as it doesn't take much effort to actually learn about it yourself, however I still think it would be a nice addition. Would also give more of a use to the "Inspect" action which is pretty much useless at the moment.Edit: I had another idea. What if instead, medkits have a chance to spawn with a medical reference card? This card could have lots of valuable information such as a blood type chart, effects of various medicines, and side effects (i.e. overdoses, combining two different medications can sometimes be dangerous, etc.). Of course this would be much more useful if the medical system were made more complex and more medicines were added. r4nger 17 Posted December 17, 2015 Yeah, medicine chart is another great idea, why not.And I completely agree that theory about blood types is simple and easy to learn, but maybe additions like this would actually learn people things they didn't know. And you have to agree with me that you learned many things just from PC games. And who knows, maybe little feature like this will learn someone a thing which will actually save a real life. What is better feature of a game that learning something new that you can use in a real life?
Draco122 412 Posted December 23, 2015 Personally I'd love to see something like a little paper leaflet which gives the basics of First Aid, nearly all First Aid Kits have them anyway
Voltic Wingz 0 Posted January 2, 2016 personally a poster up in the hospital and/or town clinics would work for this. i would expect to see one there vs on each individual 1st aid kit. also means people would have to actually go look for it. also, can you test the blood in a blood bag with a blood test kit, or it is only for testing the person?
