Bororm 1156 Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) Dunno what you're all on about to tell ya the truth. The 133 long shotgun is my 2nd favorite weapon after M4 and i get tonnes of kills with it, often first shot... Inconsistency primarily. I mean you can look at the OP, it's got multiple examples of what everyone is talking about. Edited November 15, 2015 by Bororm
KenoSkir88 181 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Inconsistency primarily. I mean you can look at the OP, it's got multiple examples of what everyone is talking about. I only see one example in the OP where the target wasn't moving rapidly. In one example he misses so blatantly i'm not sure why it was used as an example in the first place. Due to desync and ping fluctuations every gun in dayz suffers from the same issue, missing when you're sure it was a hit. Is it calculated client side as far as animation goes? That would explain everything. Anyway, as i said i kill multiple people every day with the 133 Long Shotgun and while desync can be a bitch, if you actually land the shot well it tends to kill even at mid range. EDIT : I should add i think spread should be less, as close to realistic as possible. My point is i don't suffer from the issue posted in the OP assuming i use the right shotgun and play on well synced low ping servers. And for future reference you can just assume i've read the thread before i post  Edited November 16, 2015 by KenoSkir88

And for future reference you can just assume i've read the thread before i post  Dunno what you tell you. My own experience is in line with the OP and a lot of other people are saying the same. Inconsistency is the key. I can kill 3 guys in a row one day, but do nothing but tickle people the next.Desync and stuff play a role, sure, but when you play the game enough you can tell the difference. There's also the fact that at least in my own experience, you can visibly see the character's clothing get ruined. So no, it's not just misses with client side animation issues. It's hits that do minimal damage. It's not necessarily unique to shotguns, but for whatever reasons they suffer more for it. Beyond that, if you've used shotguns consistently through each patch (I've personally used them exclusively through multiple patches) then you come to realize that changes are being made and again there are inconsistencies. As I've personally noted in this thread, I've made this same topic multiple times to the point of giving up on it. Gews claims there's been minimal tweaking of the stats but there's something going on. So I don't know what you're hoping for by coming in and saying "dunno what you guys mean my experience is fine." You can probably find some one who claims that in every scenario, but there's enough people here sharing a similar experience that doesn't line up with yours to the point where logically you should question whether your experience is the actual norm. I don't see a point in arguing though. So consider yourself lucky that you aren't having difficulties and keep doing what you're doing I guess! Funkmaster Rick 373 Posted November 25, 2015 Yeah sorry mate, what was i thinking adding my experience to the collective discussion ;)I do think Bororm was referring to the act of wet-blanketing a thread, wherein one walks into a thread about a problem and claims there is no problem. It's a legitimate comment, but there are a lot of people on this forum who seem to do it to try to kill discussions they don't like. Pretty sure you're not one of those, though, as I've seen you post plenty and detected no bullshit. =
