Terminator Encounter – Absorbs 5 shotgun hits + 3 sks hits close range. [4:46]

Tried to capture an unarmed player in Vybor to surrender bullets. But the player didn't talk and kept running. Normally people surrender without a issue. But this player had a friend in the area, a Terminator.

Let's look at the situation more closely.

 

Your first 2 shots didn't seem to create a blood spray so cannot be rightly chocked up as hits and 1 of the 3 shots that created spray seemed to be to his arm.

 

Now take sway + spread + desynch into account and you may have hit him with less pellets/buckshot than you realize resulting in minimal damage and with no head shot there is less shock damage and less likely hood to knock him out.

 

This guy was either confused somehow or not a great FPS player because I do not believe he knew how many people were involved in the firefight until it was too late.

 

Clearing the crack in the brick wall he chose to try to engage from an open position next to the office building and was easily cut down by your friend.

 

I do understand why you think the weapon or damage tables are screwy for the shotgun in that experience but I also believe that the current state of Alpha also effects many ways that the game displays/handles things like CQC that may not be directly tied to the weapons damage characteristics.

welcome to DayZs awesome desync problems.

 

Even when you see the bullets hit it can be that its only client side. So you actually do not hit but your PC shows you a hit since it thinks it hits. Hit!

More than half of the shots didn't hit him, and the others, well, desync, lag and the actual area of the hit influences a lot how a player character will react.

 

If he was a Terminator, you would all have been killed, and he wouldn't have run around like that...   ;)

That is a very interesting Analysis, and I'd agree with everything but one part.

Now I see the blood from the first shot, thanks. It was a little masked by the rusty beam he ran from in front of.

 

This was also likely a shot to the arm and if only a pellet or 2 could be very minimal in damage.

 

Good presentation made it easy for us to analyze. :thumbsup:
