cornholio308 33 Posted September 26, 2015 Well without making it overly complicated, since forever I have had this strange gratification when shooting things with a bow and seeing the arrow protruding out of the wound and or protruding out of the exit wound, plus I find it hard not to laugh when you manage to shoot someone in the knee or butt leaving them alive solely for the entertainment factor. Am I alone?

cornholio308 33 Posted September 26, 2015 only if it slows them down and they need to take the arrow out before they can bandageThat would be hard to animate, but maybe just a simple remove arrow from body selection, having to do that in order to bandage the wound, but as a result after removing the arrow you bleed profusely until the bandage is applied. So if struck with an arrow and you are without any bandages? It would probably be best to leave the arrow where it is until you get medical supplies.
Funkmaster Rick 373 Posted September 28, 2015 Poop-smeared arrows to infect the target would be nice. Well, not nice, but useful. Just, you know, don't eat him after.

Remember: arrows and other "primitive" weapons kill by blood loss. While you have to take it out eventually, it has already "done the damage" by cutting through the flesh. Leaving it in will just make it cut through the flesh more. And remember: all this blood loss is internal bleeding. A rag to the outside wound won't do much to help. Really, the entire "damage and bleeding system" of this game should be redone.

Leaving the arrow in the wound would apply pressure on the cut arteries and flesh that it has created thus stemming the bleeding. Snapping the arrow close enough to the entry wound would be advisable to stop the arrow moving and doing more damage though so you are not totally incorrect. A wound like that would need to be stitched up though so yeah a bandage would not suffice. I completely agree though the damage system needs to be redone, check some of my other posts on here :)
atempleton 123 Posted October 3, 2015 Not if it's a broad head, as the tip of the arrow will continue to cause lacerations internally. A field tip like the composite arrows however are better to leave in until you have better medical aid available.
