eno 1049 Posted August 29, 2015 Some of you may have seen I got a bit of a burr up my ass over this issue yesterday and I am still annoyed by the fact that there is really nothing stopping them from doing it... It likely can't even be reported since it doesn't technically break any rules (that are written that I have found anyway). Everything about persistence we've been looking forward to is compromised in the absence of some sort of protection from it. When we're getting kicked out of public servers on joining, or public servers are locked we're able to submit a ticket to the provider... there's SOME recourse and deterrence involved. Private guy runs his shard like "turd island" (as it was put to me in another thread) and decides he wants to reset persistence every time the loot table isn't to his liking... So long base camp. Guess what? Too bad. So now that hosts can wipe persistence at their leisure... what on earth is the point of persistence? I can hear it now: "Well if you don't like it- host your own server." Well... we're already way ahead of you in that regard. My point is that everyone who wants to have a "persistently" stable and reliable experience shouldn't have to drop 60 bucks a month to have their own safe haven from asshats. For those of you looking for a reliable place to stash your stuff... stay tuned. Will rules alone ensure that random and frequent resetting doesn't happen- goodness no... But at least making it an "offense" can help to reduce the occurrence and give those who simply had no reason NOT to do it before a reason. How are you guys dealing with this? What is your secret? Got a list of reliable servers you trust? Maybe this is a good place to put it.

I actually said like the king of turd island, I suppose $80/month is a small price to pay for that title these days ;) I picked the first 1pp private that didn't have a ping kick and got lucky, DayZTV 1pp private and plan on making it my home until .59 exp comes out. eno 1049 Posted August 29, 2015 DayZTV 1pp private and plan on making it my home until .59 exp comes out. We're actually looking for a good 1PP to do an "all natural" hunting expedition... Bam and Dave are more east side but if the ping looks good then you may see us in there soon!

My ping already sucks by the time the satellite shoots it back to the ground so it doesn't matter where I play. If you see a guy glitching around wearing a cowboy hat that'd be me and I'm cool. Etherious 907 Posted August 29, 2015 Well, actually there is a 24H rule with resetting persistence. Server owners can only reset persistence 1 time per 24 hours AND they have to notify their provider. The provider can decline or proceed with the persistence reset. ^_^
jayfkay (DayZ) 185 Posted August 29, 2015 (edited) You guys might like my mates new server. Its a private password PVE server with roleplay and limited PVP in military regions.not many people online because of that tho. If you guys want to just roll around freely/ experiment without having to worry about anything mostly, I can hit you up with the server. certainly he wont reset persistence, but of course player interaction will be rather sparse there because of the low player numbers.
