CGNoodlePot (DayZ) 149 Posted August 23, 2015 In real life, if you are a meat eater like me, you don't get hungry very quickly because meat digests a lot slower (even more slower if you add animal fat to it) compared to eating vegetables, carbohydrates and fruits. This should also be the case in dayz, I almost never get hungry when I am surviving because all I need to do is to get to an apple orchard in berezino and I will get a tummy full of apples in a short while.Make it like eating canned beans, spaghetti, fruit cocktail, fresh fruits and vegetables makes you energized but after a few sprints, you should be seeing the usual signs that you need to eat more. Therefore make the tactical bacon and sardines rare and very useful food supply. That way people will be more encouraged to hunt/fish for food and when it comes to worst, die on hunger or taste the "forbidden" meat.
BCBasher 2465 Posted August 23, 2015 I usually only eat twice every 24 hours in real life and fairly regularly even skip a day but I don't think the game should quite mimic real life for balance and accelerated time reasons. I do think that caught fish, hunted animals, and gardened vegetables should be a bigger filler than found food for balance sake because of the associated risks, supplies and time they take to gather.

Dude that's really bad for your health. You should have atleast 3 meals a day. :D In real life, if you are a meat eater like me, you don't get hungry very quickly because meat digests a lot slower (even more slower if you add animal fat to it) compared to eating vegetables, carbohydrates and fruits. Good idea, but, I think it should be faster to get hungry in DayZ. I want people to struggle to survive, not just eat one cooked human steak and run from Svetlojarsk to Komarovo to get yellow hungry state. I think it should stay the way it is. Yeah, I shouldn't have worked nights for years, limited my occupational and recreational chemical exposure, smoked for twenty years, ect. because it was bad for my health too ;) I have an eating disorder of some sort where even the thought or smell of food before 10-11 am makes me vomit unless I've been up the whole night before. The upside is I'm closer to 40 than 30 and still rocking a sixpack like I was eighteen, the downside is I feel closer to 100 most days.
