Quick tutorial on how to reload faster!

 

Note that this won't help you at all with magazine-fed weapons.

 

Works on all firearms in game.

Ah, so they act like magazines now. Because when you have multiple mags for something you can also just push "r". I think this is a bug though, but a useful one. They don't really have to remove stuff like this!

This has worked since at least December of 2013 and has been discussed on these boards several times over the course of the Early Access. There was also a bug directly related to this that enabled you to have an unlimited, semi-automatic IZH.
