'Private' ANZ server

Anyone able to check the following server -

DayZ Private - ANZ 13 - (1.7.1.5/VET) - AUS/Syd - Chaos

Joined a Aus/NZ server the other night.. had something like 7/20 people on it.. when I joined I was greeted with the 'select your gender skin' option, but knew I was still alive on the previous server I had been on. Side voice chat was very busy.. then I realised I'd joined a non-hive server. From what little I know, I believe this is not allowed, as any requests for 'private' servers are shot down without warning. If someone can confirm that the above server is not working through the DayZ hive db, will try and get this escalated to the appropriate DayZ moderator.

Just realised the server is down at the moment.. will keep a tab on it and take appropriate screenshots if it comes back up.

I don't see the problem with private servers, in fact I like having a second character that's saved locally on that server.

It's not allowed as far as I know as it's basically a rip-off. Comparing it to a pirated version, basically.

there's nothing wrong with it. It's an arma 2 mod just like any other with the only difference being a central hive (it's not the first mod to do this btw but it is certainly the biggest).

If they have made their own database then good on them. There is nothing to "pirate" as DayZ is a mod.

Pirated? No get your facts right. DayZ is a mod any server is allowed to make there own central db system. At most they may get blacklisted from ever being connected to the central hive, but big deal, stop moaning!
