Meals Ready to Eat (MRE's)

Recommended Posts

I did some forum diving, and couldn't find a suggestion for this, so im going to chuck it up here.

Why is there not MRE's in the game? These things are a staple for any military around the world, and are made specifically to provide the most amount of nutrition possible for a solider in combat.

There's some obvious advantages to this, which include, but are not limited to:

1.) Pushing people more inland, getting them off the coast. Why? Because of the fact that this item would spawn EXCLUSIVELY around military locations, or "evac" sites. The milltary would be giving this to civilians in times of need, because of the fact that they are thinking about survival, not taste.

2. Players would be wanting MRE's more, due to the fact that they would (and should) give more kcal, and some nutrition. One MRE could make or break a player.

MREs also bring another thing to the table. heh

A HOT meal.

It's pretty cool that all I need is water and I can dump some in the packet and have some hot ravioli in ten minutes. That'd be a gamechanger if you're starving.

Actually the enthusiasm seems a bit low for this idea, see this thread: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/205051-dayz-mre-meal-ready-to-eat-for-standalone/

This makes things a bit more clear.

I believe the interest isn't as high for this idea due to the fact that its not a GUN or a new mechanic, just a new type of food. One that would add a bit more realism in my opinion.

Hello there

Im all for MRE's and other "mundane" military kit, like cooking utensils, military compact cutlery etc.

Not sexy but immersive.

If we have a military presence then we need the Logistical fluff that surrounds them too IMHO.

+1 from me.
