Serverbrowser destroying internet connection

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

first of all I would like to say that my system and my network runs fine.

Cable and wireless connection is working fine without trouble for all devices in my house (PC, Macbook, two Smartphones, four consoles)!

However there is one huge problem when I'm using the server browser in DayZ stable (atm 0.57) as well as the experimental one.

The problem:

When I refresh the list of servers from time to time there aren't any servers showing up (no filers!), what then happens is the following:

  • The TeamSpeak connection stays active!
  • I can hear and can be heared from my friends!
  • However I'm not able to open websites or ping them!

Every other service (Dropbox, Pushbullet, etc.) isn't working any longer they are all action like ther is no connection to the internet (TeamSpeak is still working without problems!).

And this doesn't only happened to my gaming PC all other devices on the entire network are affected, cable connected or wireless!

For example I'm watching twitch on my Xbox One (cable connection) it stops and has no internet connection (acting like it has no!) or watching a Youtube video or browsing the web on my Macbook (wireless conenction) it stops as well, same for the smarphones!

I first thought that it is a network (router/pc) problem however this only happens while DayZ is turned on and is reproducable with it!

As I said my network/internet connection/ISP is working fine without trouble at any given time (logfiles)!

I'm really wondering how this problem can happen and if it is known or a solution for it!?

Shitty thing is, it also happens to me with Arma 3 and DayZ. I just do mother of all fixes; turn off and turn on my router and it works fine after that. :)

Yes I experience it too from time to time. Just waiting for about 3 minutes ALWAYS solves it for me. It happens to me since the first day I started playing DAYZ SA, a little over a year ago. I am under the impression there were periods (builds) where it didn't happen. I remember others reporting it too. So nothing wrong on your side, it must have something to do with the server browser and could be considered a bug I guess.

Yeah exactly waiting will fix it after some minutes but it is not accaptable that the WHOLE NETWORK is affected!

I'm pasting this from my community, turning off the udp checksum offload for idv4 and idv6 worked for me.

Try turning off your UDP Checksum Offload. This may or may not help but it's worth a try, once you turn it off try joining a server and see if you still have the issue. If you still have the issue then just turn it back on, and if it fixes it keep it off for about 30ish minutes to an hour.
1) If you use windows 8 you can hold your windows key + S and the search bar will pop up.
2) Search "Device Manager" and click that. Something similiar to this will pop up.

3) Go under network adapters and see which one has the UDP Checksum Offload option.
For me it's the second one.

4) Open it and go under advanced, once there scroll down until you see "UDP Checksum Offload". Set both Values to "Off"

5) Once it's off click Ok and wait a few minutes for it to take effect, After which try reproducing the problem you've mentioned above.
Hope this helps.
