The Mad Minute record for a Lee Enfield rifle was with a No. 1 MKIII. 270 yards, 24 inch target, as many shots as possible in one minute with a 10 round magazine reloading with 5 round clips, with a minimum number of 15 hits.

The British Army Sergeant in question who set the record in 1914 achieved the minimum number of hits and succeeded in firing 38 shots in one minute. But the action for a Lee Enfield was designed for very fast fire and is smooth.
