You can delay reload animation when zoomed in.

Dayz should definitely have such a mechanic which lets you delay the chamber animation to be able to see bullet impacts without your scope dancing all over the place. For example, in BF you can just hold your fire button after taking a shot to stay still. This helps a lot when engaging distant targets. Regular reload animation resumes after you release the fire button.

Seems simple enough, and infinitely helpful. Games like Red Orchestra 2 allow for a "manual bolting" checkbox in the menu where the gun only cocks when you click a second time, but for how shitty the game responds right now that would probably be a clusterfuck, and holding down fire sounds like a good way to go.

Very good suggestion! I sniped a zombie yesterday (and missed) and by the time the reload animation was over I had lost sight of him.
