Questions

I got some questions. Is Public 1st Person a hive? Is Public 3rd Person a hive? Do players have different characters for each hive? There are no hives for Private servers right? <---- If there is please explain it to me.

Each server has its own settings indicated in the server list... public / private can be 1rst or it can be both 1rst / 3rd. 

 

I think private servers are called "shards." Public = hives. Not sure what the significance is... but there ya go. 

 

Private shards / servers are their own entity- each with their own character. All public servers are the same character but different spawn items and loot economy.

You can have a stable 1st/3rd public character,

a stable 1st public character,

 

an experimental 1st/3rd public character,

an experimental 1st public character,

 

and another character for each private server that you visit.

Some private shards are linked too. I play on a private server that has three different servers all linked, so my toon transfers across those private servers.

Actually there was a supershard I was visiting quite often that I haven't been to for awhile... Almost forgot about that benefit!
