OnionOfShame 138 Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) Hello everyone, I think that the MOLLE webbing system should be fully implemented into DayZ. For those who do not know MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment, and describes the system of modular pouch attachment used by many modern military forces (especially NATO forces). The MOLLE system allows one to customize the pouches on their vest or backpack in order to create the most optimal equipment-carrying system for their purposes. The MOLLE system is already somewhat implemented into DayZ in the form of the Plate Carrier, but I would like to see a more in-depth and modular system. There are many different varieties of vests/chest rigs which allow the attachment of MOLLE pouches... MOLLE belts are also very common and allow the customization of one's load... Many military backpacks also come with integrated MOLLE webbing... As well as on many shoulder packs/bags... And to a limited capacity, on other clothing objects such as helmets... A wide variety of pouches/holsters/objects can be attached to these objects using the MOLLE system. These include general storage pouches, pouches designed for one specific item or item type (such as rifle/pistol magazines, flashlights, radios, or medical supplies), handgun or knife holsters, shotgun shell holders, identification cards, maps, and more. Some examples... And some examples of rigs with pouches/objects attached... As you can see, there are many different ways to create a unique and useful MOLLE configuration. Bringing this into DayZ as a more in-depth and customizable system would add to the feeling of customization and make each player's appearance and loadout more unique. Every fully-geared/endgame player will have a slightly different appearance based on what they personally consider most important to carry. Please note that these vests can definitely be worn over civilian clothing, which could lead to some very unique and badass-looking survivors. Conrad_The_Comrade 577 Posted June 30, 2015 I think the plate carrier is a wonderful start, but yes, they should go much further with it, as long as I don't see 3/4 of the players I run into with 1000 pounds worth of gear on them because of it.
