Can Not download back to stable

Been trying for two days now to redownload the stable version....  the download will stop at 70% and error message comes up { error writing to disc  } ...tryed deleting local content and reinstalling the game, when i did the game came back in experimental still and still can't get back to stable ...any ideas ...hints...tips? Help please having dayz withdrawals :P

If you uninstalled, did you change the branch before reinstalling?

yes Kichilron i did many times and the download would stop, so last night i deleted all my dayz folders in steam and in my doc libraries and redownloaded the game once again. now when i try to join and server public or private it kicks me out with a message session lost...   after 1657 hours of no problems playing im stumped.

As you have already removed the game, go to User/name/AppData/Local/DayZ...

Remove the whole DayZ folder.

Verify game cache.

 

Might help, might not.

Did you considered that your harddrive is may broken? CHKDSK? Consistence Check? Defrag? Cheap way to be sure: borrow or buy a small hdd, move your entire steam games folder via settings to the "new" hdd and try again.

 

Also the relocating trick could help to get rid of your "experimental-setting"

 

I would try it like this

 

1. remove game

2. move game folder

3. install game

 

If you dont know how to relocate your steam game folder google it, its not hard.
