Servers High Ping?

Is it just me or are the stable severs all high ping? Did a switch go out in California and screw up the fun? Bleh, nevermind, something jammed my router down to 4mps :-) Ok back to 15

There's certainly something in this in the EU/UK. The lowest ping servers are almost always clan ones.

 

But ping doesn't seem to affect my game that much. Even around 200ms it's perfectly playable, while some very low ping servers I've been on have horrendous lag.
