Hello guys, right now im gonna give some idea to developers of this game hope they implement it.

 

Okey lets get started.

 

What was main reason (i mean main quest of the game to close) to play Dayz mod previously?

Main quest:

1. Survive on coast, go to middle of the map (Stary sobor) kill contenders, and gear up, go to NWAF - kill contenders, gear up and survive.

Next entirely different thing:

 

2. Go to industrial zone, collect all that you need to repair a car, FIND a car, repair a car, explore all places of the Chernarus in the car!

 

3. Same thing with a helicopter but much more difficult to achieve at first try.

 

The next big step: 

 

4. Create band of 2-3 people, riding on a car, collect ALL possible cars and vehicles in one place so another 45-47 peoples on the server will be doing Olympic maraphone all the time.OyVA7.jpg

5. Not much usual, survive so much dayZ as possible, couse days you survive is visible to you.

 

6. Find cars base of that as**es above in punkt 4. and BLOW THEM UP!

So my idea is:

 

In dayz sa you basically much of the time doing this: looting some houses and running between towns.

Lets imagine if your character once created on this server - he cant DISAPPEAR from the server - he become part of this place. So your character just goes down on the ground, sit or sleep while you not connected to the server - and consume the energy, AND eat and drink all stuff you collect with him. 

 

Its not first thing in the list to develop RIGHT, i know it, but in short term: you grab some paper and pen, every day your character goes throught, he automatially write: how much days survived, how much peoples encountered, how much zombie killed , ALL stats i mean.

 

SO

 

AFTER you geared up, you gonna loot some houses, kill some animals, defend yourself from bandit encouters and go offline. AND REPEAT TOMORROW. After few days it will be much more harder to throw it away going to death zones. Every day you connect  - it will be much more exciting to survive another session of the game. Because the main problem if you solve main quest of the game (right now its collect all military gear) you cant do sh*t literally. You just go to Electro and die randomly to start the quest again. No value in the game.

So how do you like this idea people?

 

TL;DR

in short:

 
              Player create character on particular server.
             Character cannot disappear from it because its a part of the "world" right now.
             When player is offline - character consume food and drinks that he have in inventory, and                mostly sit and sleep
             With pen and paper automatically will be recorded most stats of this hero each day.
Result:  1) Player have a new goal to achieve: survive as much days as possible.
            2) The more days Hero survived, more difficult to throw it away doing some suicidal running to Electro. 
            3)Each player game session will be more exciting after and after days he survive.
 
 
Imagine conversation between friends:
A: how much days you survive in Dayz?
B: 12 atm
A: and how much people you meet during survival? (been close to 15-10 meters in 10 seconds or shooting each over at whatever distance)
B: 10
A: lol i live 30 days and encouner 100 people (hard to believe seriously)

the vanilla mod has a journal and it keeps track of all the stats. i don't like games where your toon sleeps and stays on the server because i've seen reign of kings and that to me IMO is dumb. with all the bases i found yesterday i'm sure we would've killed a lot of folks that were asleep and that would just be cheap i would rather they be able to join the server see there base was raided and get the option to try and get me armed and ready rather than a fresh spawn coming at a fully geared guy. and they way folks from different countries play which is one of my favorite things about the game they play at different times so depending on the population of the server like if its mainly US the european guys would be sleeping in bases during US primtime which means death for there sleeping toon. in the end i just i could see very few geared guys with not many battles happening and most logging in and being fresh spawn and i think it would piss people off and they would quit or would play on less populated servers.

Yeah man i think about it too, the worst thing is random person can make slave from you with pare of handcuffs, i totally agree its just silly when it happens. 

Who knows maybe some statis mode (like u cant do anything with sleeping people) will help solve that problem, and already Chernarus is big place and if you hide in small building wih lockpeek =)

Sleeping while offline is honestly some of the worst game design I've ever seen. I don't understand the appeal behind it - it just means you get to die when you're not even playing the game. I don't think anybody has even been beaten to death in their sleep, and sleeping for a couple of weeks won't do you any good, so it certainly doesn't make sense from a gameplay perspective.

Its like im gonna say: the idea that you need feed your character so he dont starve to death its the worst game design ive ever seen. I don't understand the appeal behind it - it just means you get to die when you're not feed the character with food again and again, so it certainly doesn't make sense from a gameplay perspective. 

 

If you go that path WHEN YOUR CHARACTER NEED TO EAT SOMETHING TO STAY ALIVE or drink something - you just go realism way. And you start thinking about more and more options about realism you can implement. The Character PERSISTENCE, when he CANT DISAPPEAR from a world like a GHOST its a next BIG STEP. See how its implemented in Rust. Its not bad. In rust playing as twice more people as in dayz rigth now. I even wonder why my char in Dayz eat tons of beans but cant do a cr*p. Many peoples i play with this game wonder about it too. 

 

Man.

 

Its just about how hard you gonna go in creating realistic feeling of a game. Thats it.

 

And this option of Character persistence may close the big problem of main goal of the game. If your char can consume energy when you offline, you can maintain char life by doing routine work day after day and after a day - finding another food and drinks in small towns and killing animals. Playing just for as much days as your char can be survived.

 

Without this system when you got all gear - the game its over right know because pvp not working atm cose desync.

I disagree. Talking about gand design, having your character sleep and require food while offline is awful. It restricts actual playability to only people who can be on constantly or at least have a regular schedule with lots of playtime. Not all of us live in our parents' basements with infinite time to play.

You totally right. This problem still can be solved. I mean maybe the char can live entire week on 3 beans and one bottle, and cant be killed and looted while offline, BECAUSE the main goal is not be that HIGHT at realism but provide some goals to player (go in dayz play some session (hour or 2 hour) every day, just provide all that char needs and go offline again. And every day you unlock some Steam achievement till 90 days survived you know. It will be great. Without going to Electro to be killed because you dont know what to do when you collect all gear what you want.

 

I mean for me it will be great just survive end see my progress and contest with my friends who will survive longer. 1 year surviver from entyre Dayz Community in the Steam and all know about this guy.

I mean not like you go online eat some food quick replenish all in that house and quickly go offline, THAT will be awfull i agree. You can get 1 year survivalist medal (like 5 year CS veteran in CS GO extraordinary type of medals) only if you achieve others stuff too DURING this year on that particular char - like geat base, car,all military gear and other stuff that you dont get easy.

I mean this will be great for me.

Very good idea btw. The main problem with this is that you need to create role for yourself and play it (like you get all medical gear and serve as medic in your squad, and you get skill increased all the time. Its very hard to achieve when nobody knows about it. I suddenly realise that all will be okey with this game when they come to Beta and did this Steam Achievements thing. Yeah lets see what 2016 year will be for Dayz. So excited.

Pretty sure you would wake up when someone started dragging you/hitting you/looting your gear. Hate this mechanic...please never implement.

I do love the idea of stats though...days survived/encounters/kills/etc.

with stasis mode it can be only once from one hundred awakes, so i dunno.
