Cold / damp / soaked / wet - Bug?

Recommended Posts

So today i tried to see if it was possible to cut down on the cold modifier.

I thought that if you were to take off all you clothes, that you would be able to cut down on the Wet status and not loose to much heat when trying to fill canteens in a lake.

I was wrong.

After filling up my canteens i got my dry clothes back on, And thought everything would been nice. But i was getting colder and colder.

None of my clothes is wet but i still get the status wet / damp and i loose heat at an alarming rate..

I really think that this is something that bohemia needs to address, since leaving you clothes on the bank/shore and leaving you defenseless that way should be a way to not loose heat fast and then when you get your clothes back on yo should be able to get warm again pretty fast.

This should be a realistic scenario right ?

Stripping your clothes off in the cold without a fire is not a good idea.

The wet status you were experiencing might have been a bug but since I did not see everything that happened I cannot be sure.

When it come to being cold/wet in DayZ fire will always help and if you're only damp and not too cold, running can warm you up as well.

All experiences in DayZ are always subject to glitches and you should be prepared for small problems with the design and big problems that can even prevent you from playing from time to time.

Much as in real life, the best way to keep warm in DayZ is to keep moving. All the time. If you're sitting still, your body temperature is dropping whether you or your clothes are wet or dry. More ideally, build a quick fire and dry yourself off. As long as you've got matches and a stone knife, you can make a fire just about anywhere at a moment's notice.

In the wild if you were to fill up a cantine of water you would not get youself soaked through to do that, and if you had to swim in cold weather you probaly would take off you clothes to do so to be able to keep warm when you get out of the water and yes you might make a fire aswell to get warm

Apologies if I missed it, as it is a long video - but from what I saw you *yourself* became soaked when you entered the water. At that point, your next goal should have been to dry your body off. Best route for this would be sitting by a fire.
