Shooting in the Head?

Recommended Posts

So I'm guessing the title of this Topic made you a little curious.. Good.

I am making a video, but for the last scene it requires me to shoot someone in the head after doing a curtain specific thing which I would not be able to do with a stranger. BECAUSE of this, the scene has to be scripted. I could just "edit" me shooting my friend in the head, but since ballistic helmets kind of protect you from shots to the head, I was curious on if a worn ballistic helmet would be able to withstand a point-blank magnum to the head. I know the helmet will become ruined and the victim unconscious if the helmet is pristine, but if it's worn, can I shoot my friend in the head and still have him survive?

I have personally tested this.  A pristine ballistic helmet will NOT stand up to a point blank .357 Magnum round to the head.  Also tested this with the 1911.  Same result.
