Accelerated Time Fragnet Servers

Who's playing on them, how are you finding it? Is the rate too fast or too slow? I'm curious what other people are thinking.

 

Speaking for myself, I'm loving the change. The game feels much more like a long-term adventure with changing conditions to respond to and it's just great being able to see full transitions from day to night and back within a single session. I find myself thinking along the lines of "well, yesterday I did x, I'll craft more arrows tonight and go to y tomorrow" or because of glare playing during the day "I'll hang out on the outskirts of town and forage till dawn". Getting rushed by zeds when you can't see a damn thing becomes a serious risk but the accelerated time gives you the option to either go for it now, or simply wait out the night.

 

I'm think perhaps the transition is a bit too fast as it stands on these servers this weekend but I don't feel strongly about it and am pretty happy with the rate. It also has the effect of making the character's metabolism not just feel appropriate for gameplay purposes but more "realistic".

i always thought that night was too long. it's really hard to get anything done at nice, especially with more zoms about

Haven't found an accelerated time server yet. Looking for a public but will do private if I have too

 

So this weekend all official dayz servers hosted by fragnet are 24x accelerated. Just filter for fragnet.

Thanks Ebrim, saw that post as well. I'm looking for a more permanent accelerated time server though. Tired of all the 24/7 DAY / SUMMER.

I do love that we've had the opportunity for the weekend though! Helps me out a lot when planning my day of survival.

I'm the same way. I'm really looking forward to have more varied conditions and accelerated time becoming more of a norm.

I'm Playing a server with X24 time, loving it, although I did get lost in the woods one night :S 

 

By the time morning came I was thoroughly lost.

Played for a couple of hours. It's way too fast in my opinion, dawn and dusk are basically nonexistent which is pretty immersion breaking but it's probably only this fast for testing reasons.

 

 It's going to be a great feature, seeing night and day in one session is very cool although I do hope extreme time acceleration doesn't become the norm.

The private server I'm playing on has a pretty neat and simple way of dealing with this. When the server restarts it's daytime, 13:00 - 14:00 (it varies), so when the sun goes down you know you're closing in on a restart. You get an hour or so of dusk and night before restart. This way you can prepare for server restart and treat it as "bed time". After restart it's a new day! Feels authentic enough at the moment.

Promote no, but you can tell people which server you play on !

 

They are experimenting/stressing the cycle I believe, 24x = 1 hour day.

I expect this will be adjusted in the near future and I'm going to push for a 1st pp server, all are 1st / 3rd at this time.

Do these servers actually restart? Because I've been testing persistence yesterday and it seems like one of the fragnets I used seemed to have it working properly but I'm unsure if they restart. Can anyone confirm?

Since I found an accelerated time server I always play on that server. It is the best experience I ever had.

 

However like others said, dawn and dusk transitions are too fast. What I would like to see is a variable acceleration meaning that night and day length should remain like it is now on Fragnet but when the clock is approaching dawn / dusk, acceleration should be lower in order to have a longer transition. IF night would be longer than this it would be boring for me and I would change server. I mean in 2 hours of gameplay I want to play 2 days and 2 nights...
