Wili 156 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) https://youtu.be/NcsJz7IN7e4 My suggestion is about removing "Vicinity" and replace it with "Drop" so no object will be displayed in the vicinity tab, the players will need to search for the objects in the environment and pick it up by hand. The vicinity tab could be gone totally as if you drag any object out of the inventory space it drops that object anyway, saving some inventory space.I think this change will increase the immersion and players will actually have to search for loot instead of opening the inventory tab and walking around hoping some loot will pop up in the vicinity tab. Conrad_The_Comrade 577 Posted April 1, 2015 I'm for it in the case of hardcore servers, or an option server owners can choose to activate or not, because face it, we all like having options
gibonez 3633 Posted April 2, 2015 Yup good idea. Vicinity should have never been a thing.
Chaingunfighter 917 Posted April 2, 2015 I understand the implications, but vicinity is necessary at least for the time being, as the way item interaction is done is pretty bad. You can be looking at an object but based on the placement or position you can't pick it up simply because the game can't detect it. Vicinity is what allows you to actually pick things up in many cases, so until we've got a better system for it it has to remain. Otherwise you'll have a lot of unreachable loot. therandomredstone 432 Posted April 2, 2015 Vicinity is just a placeholder so we don't have a bunch of winey babies complaining about not being able to pick up that CR75 that they have no mag for.
