About the fireplace

Hi guys, I don't know if this is the right place to post this but this is my first time on this forum, show some mercy. 

Anyway, I was watching a stream and I saw a guy who was using the fireplace as an invetory so I made some research about, they said if you log out with items in the fireplace, the items will be destroyed so I tried that and the items were still there with no damage at all or anything like that so I took it to another level and I put 2 fireplaces in 1 fireplace and I got a lot of space wich is nice BUT is this ok ? I mean I suppose it isn't but how bad it really is, my items will really dissapear after some time or how does this work ?

It will eventually be fixed, and when it is, you will lose the items that are in the fireplace. When that happens is anyone's guess.

Last time they fixed something like this (seedable vests and other clothing) it was during a hive wipe.

You should report this obvious issue (even though it's likely been reported already). It's certainly not a feature or intended.

It is irrelevant that the items will disappear when fixed, as that will likely come with a full hive wipe.  I know people who do it, but I prefer to just use more backpacks and save my rags for important purposes.  You'd be suprised how much blood you can lose while struggling to empty a fireplace and break it down for a rag.
