Tiger205 48 Posted March 16, 2015 I'm asking this because I remember something like that happening some time ago and I'm not certain if it still happens. I sure wouldn't want to be shit on the game just because I missclicked and joined a server with it's time at 8:00 or whatever. So - does it still happen or not? trev186 389 Posted March 16, 2015 It shouldn't let u join but if u do there is a chance it wipes u. Personally I have not been able to join at either the standard 8 or 9:20 times
Reg Park 160 Posted March 16, 2015 as far as i know, yes.... if you join a server too soon after it restarted, and it says "wait for host" for more than 5 seconds, back out and try again in a minute......it can still wipe your character if you let it sit on that "wait for host" too long right after a restart ive noticed. typically people will wait until about 10 players have joined back (assuming it was a higher pop server when it restarted) then it's probably safe to join at that point. Tiger205 48 Posted March 17, 2015 Well that sucks but at least I know.
Guest Posted March 17, 2015 Just wait for some time to pass on the server before joining.
Downydan (DayZ) 41 Posted March 17, 2015 Its a crap shoot on that. I generally wait a couple minutes after a server reset to join just in case.
jimmorrison 0 Posted March 18, 2015 In .54 yes, tested it in .55 experimental and couldn't duplicate it so they may have finally found a fix for it.
ColdAtrophy 1850 Posted March 18, 2015 Oh so that's why my public character was reset the other day. I was wondering about that. I let it sit on "Wait for host" for like 5 minutes, thinking that it would let me in eventually. Seems like this should be displayed prominently on the main menu or something so people know it's an issue when they first get the game.
