Are characters stored separately on consistent/non-consistent servers?

Recommended Posts

I joined a 30 player server with persistency off. I later realized my mistake and wanted to switch back to a 30 player server with persistency on. But it spawned my random character model again. With nothing on it. Does that mean, I can only play the character on non-persistiant servers and vice-versa? Bugs me a bit that I didn't try switching servers earlier, but I had basically forgotten the last server I connected to isn't consistent. Also, both are public servers.

I guess it is either/or? I can see why this might be done, because it's probably easier to loot on non-persistant servers. At least it wseems so - I found 3 tents in the same apartment within 10 minutes ^^.

No, it is only the loot that changes, your character should remain if same server class, 1st person or 3rd/1st person.

you coulda joined a private hive or a veteran game. you need to stay in the same game type to stay in the same character. persistance is the same characters.

each server with "private" shard type has it's own characters. private servers also seem to spawn about 1000x more loot than normal ones.

incase you didn't know, per-off servers spawn loot every restart to have more loot in general, per on servers respawn loot occasionally and you can drop a backpack and come back to it, even after restart. (it will decay)

as a note, per on servers reset items every wednesday
