Wili 156 Posted March 2, 2015 I agree, I believe there is too much sway, I recently shot a weapon for my first time and the sway was not as much as in Dayz, maybe it was a little more bumpy though.I hope they implement weapon resting soon, even in the prone position the sway is too high imo. rybec 339 Posted March 2, 2015 You guys are talking about it like there's some special skill to controlling your body.Go up to some random person and see if they have the elite skill of "can you hold your arms still?"
-Gews- 7443 Posted March 2, 2015 Yet despite any amount of sway one's avatar always manages to keep his sights perfectly aligned.
AP_Norris 1018 Posted March 4, 2015 Nope. Ive seen what novice shooters can do often times they completely miss paper at 10 yards.Maybe OP is worse than that in the game?
Bushmaster14 51 Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) I stated in another post that I consider the sway a stop gap measure so far as prone position long range shooting is concerned. A firearm will not sway while rested on a bipod,it will move ever so slightly from breathing but it will not sway such as found in Dayz, this is just basic reality. Off hand shooting however I'm happy with the sway, good enough. Soft skills that reduce this effect over time can be implemented. Now as far as "sniper rifles" go,I think if the Devs keep the sway while prone at all rather than slight vertical movement from breathing then they are cheating and taking the easy way out of their job. The environmental factors as well as shot dispersion at increasingly greater distances can be implemented to create semi realistic and challenging problems to overcome. Wind and rain..when is it ever NOT windy or rainy as hell in Churnarus? Bullet drift would be quite dramatic in such conditions, rain would especially throw a round off as from the bullets perspective so to speak each drop of rain is like a concrete bead in it's way. Add fog and smog that limits visual range and the challenge increases as it pushes the "sniper" closer to the target and that much closer to an early death either by being forced into effective "assault rifle" range or being flushed out by zombies. Firearm and munitions condition has a very very real effect on bullet dispersion, shot dispersion and quality tier system (Pristine to Ruined) is already in game, the two need only be merged to have a simple but realistic effect. We'll have to wait on the weather physics. Maybe I've been under my rock too long and this is all planned anyway and someone will link it?
