More Soviet and modern Russian weapons perhaps?

Since dayZ is taking place in ChernaRus (Pseudo exSoviet republic) I do really miss lot's of Russian weapons arma 2 has to offer. Instead we got bunch of US and even British weapons, how that?

You can find US mg's, m4's assault rifles etc. but not PKP or even PKM MG and ak107+gp/. You can find lots of british and us sniper rifles, but rare an SVD, no VSS Vintorez or KSVK anti material rifle? Where are all russian weapons gone, and why we got more US/British ones?

I agree - though for someone who knows nothing about guns the name doesnt really matter to me. But i suppose the guns found should reflect the location.

I agree with you completely but honestly, you shouldn't even be able to get military weapons so easily. We should be seeing more weapons, especially russian ones (not necessarily military though).

I agree with you. When my friends asked me why it was so easy to get American weapons in Eastern Europe, I made up a B.S. story about no it was an international effort to fight the infection before everyone abandone the area. That was why so much of it spawned in airfields, the US Army fled Vietnam-style and left gear behind.

I keep finding M240 and 249 magazines as ask, "where's the PKM?"

I find DMR and M24 magazines and ask, "why is the SVD rarer than these things?"

I keep finding M1014s and 870s and ask, "Where's the Saiga in this mod?"

I guess the Lee Enfield is just because it was in the base code and the Mosin-Nagant wasn't, but it should be a fairly simple cosmetic switch, you wouldn't even need to toy with the base stats, just superficial ones like ammunition and appearance.

Why are there UH-1s when Mi-8 Hips are the most common helicopters in the world AND we're in the Warsaw Pact region?

yeah man, you were thinking absolutely the same as i do every time i find another US weapon.

I have perhaps another suggestion: 2 versions for US and RU servers. At US servers, there are of course mostly US weapons and vehicles, while on Russian servers, we will have Russian weapons and vehicles most.

more we try, more chance we have devs actually notice that or even implement that. ;)

also i browsed this threads, only 2 of them were representing almost the same i said, others were about mosin nagan, cz and some other single weapon. There could be a lot more threads actually.

I understand the concept of squeaky wheel gets noticed, just thinking that if I was the developer I would pay more attention to the one with more discussion and views, than same idea spread out across bunch of threads.

Perhaps the OP's, (like you in this case) would incorporate things they like from discussions and include it in the edited version of the original post.

I do not feel that more weapons are needed, by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe ousting some of the weapons in favour of ones more fitting to the situation, yes, but by no means do we need more.

All of the guns going around this thread are IN ArmA 2. Why the devs chose to exclude them in favor of the traditional Call of Duty gun lineup is beyond me.

He realy got a point Cherarus located in old soviet republic (todays ukraine if im noy wrong)

and its realy wierd theres more us/uk weapons then russian one russian weapons should be more common then us/uk weapons becuse i think they rearly ship any to russia

Location (while irrelevant for this conversation) is actually part of Czech Republic (according to the developers during an interview). Either way, any place in the so call "eastern block" countries would still have much more Russian weapons, than US ones.

If I am not mistaken Rocket is from New Zealand and has army experience,so he must have used NATO weapons.

Arma2,on the other hand, has so many Warsaw pact weapons that did not make it into DayZ, which is kinda sad since the map represents soviet like country of Chernarus.

p.s. I would like to see our Samopal vz 58 as well and also would cry of joy if CZ backpack was atleast 18 slots (I dislike the tought that very old Alice backpack can carry more then modern military CZ backpack + like the looks of cz bag).
