Steak and Potatoes 13480 Posted February 20, 2015 You would have to ask Player Unknown as he is busy with the other zed game which bought him. I assume when modding is enabled its inevitable you will see something similar.

SmashT 10907 Posted February 20, 2015 When modding is available, PlayerUnknown has said he wants to bring it to DayZ. I don’t want to just stop at Arma 3 and H1Z1. When the DayZ game opens for modding, I want to bring it to that. We’ve been talking about bringing it to Minecraft. I’ve said before, one mod for many games. Ultimately, I’d like to build my own standalone version, but I think for the moment I’m quite happy to be a mod in many games. It just makes our community bigger so when we do eventually go for a standalone version, we will have a bunch of support, hopefully.
Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted February 20, 2015 I revel in the thought of modding down the road, as for the variety you described Suvivor Games in SA was run not to long ago. I revel at the thought that modders will take away from what DayZ is striving to be. If the mod is any assurance then the standalone is doomed and I feel bad for the developers.

Modding is the only thing that made DayZ possible in the first place - amongst many other games, such as CS.
HeXedMinD (DayZ) 39 Posted February 20, 2015 Modding is both a good and a bad thing. It allows for innovation but it also fragments the community. It was a big reason i stopped playing ARMA 2, too many mods popping up and people moving from one to the other. Modding is the only thing that made DayZ possible in the first place - amongst many other games, such as CS.Look what modding did to the mod. It went from something great to something that was not DayZ anymore. Now I've heard that the developers won't allow modding in a sense of allowing 1000 vehicles, starting weapons, self blood bag etc but that can all easily change. DayZ Mod was a mod of Arma that then became DayZ Mod the modded.

I wouldnt worry though because they said mabey down the road and at there speed that's gonna be Decades from now.
