Ooooh, I may just have to attend this one. The location alone makes it interesting :)

Yeah... Word on the street is that this event didn't go well, and HoneyB-John's post on the trading forum about the event doesn't put the BR clantag in a good light either :/

Myself and a few friends were gonna spawn in in the spiral and see if we could have some fun with our grenades and AKs before being shot down, sounds like someone else had the same idea.

Maybe next time don't go public with this sort of thing, if you don't have about 20+ guys to hold down the fort then you will be destroyed. Try adding known trustworthy traders from the trading thread and creating a network.

The event went fine. We were a bit light on traders, but we repelled the attackers and held the area. Not surprising that things were a bit slow after a month long hiatus. We'll be back again next week and every saturday. If you want to see a busier trading post, show up to trade!

Who is HoneyB-John? I don't recognize that name as someone who showed up. Did they attack?

I'm not sure why there's an impression that things didn't go well in terms of PvP. We had three combat-related guard casualties on a team of about 15 and killed at least four attackers. Most significantly, we had no civilian casualties. Defensively I'd call it a success, especially considering that we're working with a new group of people.

And DickCheney, we've been doing this since August. Making it public and creating a space where people can trade safely in spite of attacks is the whole point. Why have guards if you're just hiding from attackers anyway?

Okay, now I know who HoneyB-John is. It's John Browning. He attacked the trading post with his friends and I have proof in the form of server admin logs.

Considering that he's lying in order to tarnish our name, I don't feel as though it's untoward to post this evidence for the public to consider.

-REMOVED-

Guard IDs and irrelevant lines have been redacted.

You'll note that HoneyB-John is Shaft, while his confirmed friends are Chuck Norris and Anything 4 $20. Bildo's account (which, notably, has a VAC ban on record), is set to private and may or may not be connected. The MILN, who posted above, is also friends with the attackers.

Don't try to pull one over on me, boys, I do my research.

Arent the bandits gonna hold up the coast now? I would be suprised if anyone makes it across anyhow :P

We recommend that people swim across on a low pop and ghost in under the arches where we can get them in safely. It's all in the trader's guide.

The MILN is on the friends lists of several of the attackers too.

So what would me being friends with anyone have to do with anything? I was never on the server, as I had been training at my new job for the past few days. John is a trusted friend and when he tells me that he did what he was told and shot for it, it makes me rather weary...

I could honestly care less about you accusing me by "association", "crashing" your trading event, as I conduct trades as is with the EITC, and would prefer to keep trades to a low-profile, instead of public. I've a good reputation as a trader  that I'd like to keep up as well.

Public Trading Events are always a risky venture. I can vouch for The MILN he was not even on the night in question.

When you have a event that is so public you are going to attract all kinds of trash.

I hope that things go better for you in the future but be aware of having public trading events.

As a fellow trader I would recommend trading in private to reduce the risk of attack.

It has to do with the fact that three of the attackers have you on their friends list, one of whom is now on the forums lying publicly about it while you draw attention to it. EITC seems to be precisely the group that's attacking us and attempting to sully our name. Several of you have popped up in these threads claiming to be attacked while I have logs of them shooting guards, repeating the claims made by the rest of you, and I've even got one guy who thinks he can report me for having access to admin logs, which are always accessible in .53. It stinks of a group that's trying to cause trouble.

Personally, I don't care whether or not you try to attack the trading post. It makes no difference at all to me. Without attackers, the guards have no real purpose, and we keep legitimate traders who can follow the rules safe even while we're under assault. Attackers are, weirdly enough, good for the trading post.

What I do care about, though, is your group attacking us and then being so incredibly unsportsmanly that you have to spread falsehoods about our event and pretend that you came completely innocently.

You realize we're not even in competition, right? We do entirely different things. You guys are working on a network of verified traders, we provide guards so that people who can follow a few simple rules can have a safe place to meet new people to trade. We ought to be working together, even if you guys do want to attack now and then. Hell, we've got guards who attack sometimes and we still get along fine. What they don't do, though, is attack and then lie about it, or use their friends to try to turn public opinion when their attack doesn't go as planned.

There's still all the time in the world to do things in a better way.

They're risky in the sense that you get a lot of people who want to troll. For legitimate traders who follow our rules it's one of the safest places in the game. Failing to follow the rules will probably get you killed, and so will doing a poor job of trying to pose as a trader so you can attack us.

These guys couldn't take us out in game so they're trying to cause trouble out of game. If you want to know what the trading posts are like, come to one. Don't believe the trolls who have to use forums to cause trouble because they can't do a damn thing in game.

Hmm. Has it occurred to you that I usually add people on steam to do my trades? Could be the reason why I'm on their friend's list.

If EITC really wanted to "attack" you, I'm sure we'd let you know beforehand. We've no reason to.

From the logs that were up (before they were removed), why would we send in a group of what, 3 or 4 attackers that you said into the prison area when you guys have guards and such? That'd be suicide, and a waste of our time and resources.

What I said earlier is only what I had heard. My mistake.

Let's not resort to name-calling either, as that won't solve anything either.

Myself and EITC would be more than willing to cooperate

Fair enough. It seemed like you were probably associated with him because he's in your signature, on your steam list, and you're the one who brought up his claims in the thread.

If you guys are interested in doing guarded trades or getting involved in trading posts or something, feel free to contact me.

The only reason that I reported you is because your screenshots had Steam ID's in them. Which you then posted publicly onto the forums which is not cool. We are more than willing to work with you guys. There is no need for heated words and stupid remarks. That S@#t is not going to get any of us anywhere on the forums.

Cheers and GL.
