G17 flashlight not working?

Hi I recently got my hands on a G17 but when I press L nothing happens does the light only turn on when its night?

Yeah, it only works at night. Annoying, I know.

During the day, to see the light, you need to be looking directly at the front and then [mouse left-click].

I suggest having a friend confirm it comes on, as turning the camera that far is tricky.
