Wondering how to get the best FPS in this situation

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I was wondering how to get the best fps for my current specs. I currently only get around 20fps in cities and was wondering if there is any way to improve that.

Specs:

Res: 1920x1080

CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00GHz

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GT 555m / 1GB GDDR5

Ram: 4GB

I did all the regular fps increase stuff such as put clouds and shadows down. Terrain is on low. Objects I would like to keep on normal. My anti aliasing is on low and what not. I've followed several guides but would still like to know if there is a way I can increase my fps. Thanks!

Unfortunately atm i think the game is heavilly CPU dependent and unless you can unleash that baby you will struggle.

I'd try toying with graphics enough to put most of the stress on your GPU performance-wise. Somewhere inbetween medium and very high, but I'd still leave most rendering stuff on lowest.

I'm having the same specs as you - Only my GT555m has 2GB DDR3 - I did some tweaking in the config file & I disabled hyperthreading in the bios.

Same FPS as you on 1080p though.

I assume you've already done this

Put textures & terrain back to normal. I notice no difference setting this from low to high on a much weaker rig.

Turn off the shadows, AA, SSAO.. whatever rendering... turn off vsync (if your pc tends to crash when lookin at the sky cause of 999FPS, turn it back on). Than play with  the settings untill u reach your "ideal" state of performance vs quality.

the only real setting u wanna be worried about is objects.I run everything on lowest, forced my resolution down to 1280x720 in order to have objects on normal.

Be sure your gpu is set to optimal performance, get the latest drivers.

You can try unparking your CPU.
