Ajvkorn 72 Posted August 14, 2012 Extreme fps issues can cause this. Only way I can really confirm is joining a cheap server and testing it. Also, I really can't tell how experienced most of the people in here are, but you guys do know there is fatigue, correct? As in, if you try to hold your sprint down when you are out of breath, you will run slower than somebody who is crouch walking or jogging. Otherwise, you are trying to sprint at full speed with no energy left in you. Stop pushing W twice and just normal jog. I am not saying there isn't a bug, but I think most of the issues are "Picnic". Mikewhiskey (DayZ) 27 Posted September 1, 2012 I guess no one has found a fix for this problem? We have tried everything that was said in this thread and still having issues.
st0nedpenguin@st0nedpenguin.org 25 Posted September 1, 2012 Doesn't humanity level affect movement speed?
John (DayZ) 62 Posted September 2, 2012 Doesn't humanity level affect movement speed? Not even a little bit.No, honestly, if you don't have a 50+ FPS I'd say it's probably that. It can slow you down very noticeably, for whatever reason. Certain people that I play with will often lag behind if their computers aren't up to the task of playing ArmA II (which is excessively CPU/GPU intensive). At any rate, that's the only thing I can think of, and probably the most likely answer. I can't see why any of you would just arbitrarily run slower than everyone else for absolutely no reason.
Kraorr 6 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) If you have made your own keybinds, double check if you don't have some of your movement binds/walk|run double taps/toggles mixed in with your iron sights. When I first began the game trying to find a custom bind set up by myself, I noticed I was running very slow, even the animation looked as if it was borderline slow-motion. I figured that, I had the iron sights key (the hold option, not toggle) binded to my forward key... Shook off the double bind, everything went back in order. It could have been by accident run double tap toggle binded exactly the same for iron sights toggle, so really really make sure of any movement related key isn't getting trolled.small edit of the offtopicness: anyone found out what exactly is needed to be done to perform standing, side-stepping animations? SystemiK 366 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) I can confirm that extreme FPS issues can cause this issue. A buddy of mine was plagued with this problem on and off since he started playing the game. Once I gave him my old HD4870 (he had 9600gt before) and 600w power supply he never had the problem again. Edited September 3, 2012 by SystemiK
John (DayZ) 62 Posted September 4, 2012 small edit of the offtopicness: anyone found out what exactly is needed to be done to perform standing, side-stepping animations? That is a very good question.I've done this hundreds of times, and still haven't isolated any common factors between each time I perform the animation - except that it seems to happen most often when I'm strafing and rotating my mouse. geogeorgegeo@hotmail.co.uk 50 Posted September 9, 2012 My humanity is bugged. So, sometimes im sprinting as a bandit, then it teleports me into water and changes my skin/model so I look like a normal survivor, often, it makes me sprint way faster. I thought this was because it resets everything (it always resets my backpack (I will report this bug when tested some more)) as the heavy breathing stops and my gun doesnt shake in 1st person. And yes, one day I was chasing someone for a long time, and he never slowed down, he was always slightly faster than me even when I double tapped W (I doubt he was doing this as he seemed a little noobie; I had a marakov, chasing him, he had an ak74 and was too scared to even try to shoot me until ages down the road). lokotor 1 Posted December 15, 2012 I too have this issue. I run much slower than all of my other friends, and i have tested it on dozens of servers, from several differnt playing locations (my home, friends home, school, etc.) i have used a myriad of different weapons/loadouts, 1st person, 3rd person. I have strong internet connection allways when i play, i have a decent computer, 8Gb RAM 2.7GHz processor NVidia GT 525M Graphics card. my friend plays on a significantly worse laptop than mine and does not have this issue. the devs should at least look into this issue and tell us to f-off if they have no answer, but it would be nicce to know they even know it might be a bug. Good to see an older post revived. :beans: Remember that Arma II, I believe, was never meant to played from laptop but "computing-power" seems to double yearly :lol:Perhaps turning down/off anisotropic filtering, anti aliasing, substituting a high/very high setting of HDR quality.Try shadows on either low or medium. Viability Distance has an impact on game-performance.Keep the Interface Resolution at "100%" and try graphic resolution at different sizes. leviski 2152 Posted March 20, 2013 Bringing up this somewhat old thread, this problem is still preveilant and needs attention. My guess is its from having poor system specs, My friend can play this on a core i3 IDK how but he does, and it runs smoothly however his character moves slower than anything, even drives cars slow. Something needs to be done because this is a bit game breaking.
trichome (DayZ) 198 Posted March 21, 2013 To everybody that is still suffering from this bug. I and a few members of our community managed to get it sorted by deleting our Arma2 profiles and creating a new one. Now my character runs at the same speed as everybody else with no slowdown.
Shakis 33 Posted March 28, 2013 I can't be 100% sure but your specs are quite low.Your GFX card isn't exactly great, and I haven't had a look at your CPU but I believe that may be a bit dated now too.I read an interesting thread last night that I think will help you.Important point from the thread:Graphics settings on High or above will use your GPU, settings lower than HIGH will use your CPUThere is also a little trick in there you can try by editing your Arma2OA.cfg files to try and make the game run faster.http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/28160-guide-how-to-set-up-your-graphics-properly/
