Hot and cold food

The idea is that you will find mostly food cans which are mostly cold and the food isnt very tasty when its cold.Which will also lower your body temperature and makes you more easy to get sick and cold.That means it will force players to do more campfires and rest until food is done and then they can eat , also eating warm food will increase your body temperature so that means it will be good for regulating body temperature.

Eating food hot should definitely be incentivized as much as possible, no one eats cold beans if they can help it. Hot food takes less energy to break down, so that could translate in giving slightly more energy in game.

Currently as an expiriment, we decided to throw an open can of beans onto a campfire, it showed the same result as you would cooking meat, a slow pink red to a solid dark red. We thought it was a new addition and tried it, as far we knew it wasn't any different from eating regular beans BUT the can itself was hot and was being used as a resuable heatpack.

Then again, I'm a super lazy student, so my opinion is definitely the minority. :P

 

But yeah, for the heating and increased energy (or, rather, decreased energy loss, but that's not how it works ingame, obviously :P), it's definitely a good idea. I feel like food is probably going to get a bit less common though either way, forcing more people to consider hunting and cooking, which I'd like.

 

Rice should need to be cooked. Like, need to be (Lectin). Also want the ability to boil water once it becomes dangerous to drink from ponds and streams again. Lose a little bit of it (maybe 1dl out of 1l?), but y'know... Benefits of purification tabs without the purification tabs. I'd love to be able to set up small barrel reservoirs of purified water dotted around in trees near my bases.

So long story short,the quality and condition of the food that is consumed,can shape up or take a toll on the survivor's overall immune system.

Hello fellas and happy new year!

As we all read in the 2015 roadmap, improved cooking and horticulture is on the way and yes, the idea of cold and hot meals affecting your character is indeed important. Hot food should be able to raise your body temperature fast, and feed you more in conjunction with the fireplace. Cold food should only feed your character. Taking the risk of making a fire or a camp, must have it's benefits and I believe that this idea will vastly improve gameplay.

well it wouldnt be bad if we could fill gas cannisters with water to carry 20l into our base  ;)

Or throw it at someone so they pass away for a moment or two ;)
