Corrupt files and no saved .exe to reinstall.

When I went to log in this morning I got a pop up from my anti virus saying a malicious act was blocked before the application could execute. Now Dayz won't launch from the desktop or the file manager. I was going to uninstall and reinstall but for some reason the .exe file is now missing from my downloads. The game has been playing fine up until yesterday. 

 

I can't find any links from the website for people who have already purchased the game to get another install copy. Any ideas on what might have happened, or suggestions?

DayZ is only available through Steam and thus reacquiring missing files is as easy as following these steps:

 

  1. Rightclick DayZ
  2. Go to "Properties"
  3. In the window that opens hit the "Local Files" Tab
  4. Click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"
  5. Anything that's missing will be redownloaded.
