Just a question

Is there any talk at all about an Xbox one version coming out?

"Hall said that a console release of DayZ is "almost certain" and that he had been in talks with both Sony and Microsoft about PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. He commented that he was happy for DayZ to be released on any console that is "indie-friendly," but that he was put off by Microsoft's ban on self-publishing and their history of charging money for game updates though the development team was not counting the Xbox One out. The development team will not be considering the console version further until the game has been released fully on PC"

This means that they are focusing the least bit of energy on any of the console versions. Sony had paid the devs to announce that it will be released on the PS4 but that doesn't mean it won't be on the Xbox One. Dean Hall seems to favor the idea of DayZ being on the Xbox One more than the PS4. As he stated in a tweet "really interesting" features coming to the platform", though he's not allowed to discuss them just yet. And he doesn't like the fact that Microsoft charges for every game update. So most likely after they make millions in a week after DayZ being in stores for the PS4, they will then release it for the Xbox One, and have some 'spare money' to be able to spend whenever they have to update the game.

So to answer your question; probably, but not anytime in the near future.

Actually, the entire build is based around this game making it to consoles, where BIS will make the majority of their future profits from DayZ.

We are simply testers during the build phase for a console game. If you think Im wrong, wait for the UI changes and ask yourself why each and every addition that has to do with engine and rendering.. would any of that have been done if not for needing to do it for the consoles architecture? Also, in case you answered yes.. they already stated quite clearly this is why they did these things.

So I would presume after Sony has their timed exclusive contract.. Microsoft will get their time too. From a business standpoint this entire thing, the whole thing is about expanding and improving BIS and moving them into the future. That means making as many profits as possible while maintaining their core values. Expect good things from them in the future.

Very good things..

They will be once they get people to work on the console versions; converting it over, exclusive features, network stuff, making it run correctly. And mass producing the game to ship all over the world and trailers and stuff. They are spending money everyday, before they can even CONSIDER doing anything with the insanely expensive Xbox One version, they gotta start stockpiling their funddsss $$
