Character resets

At this point its not even worth playing for me. I get geared up, log off for the night. Join a server the next day and boom, its all gone. So, I do what other people say and leave without pressing anything. That doesn't help, I just have the same fresh spawn. In the last week I've had 3 characters reset. If someone knows a way to prevent this, that would be nice.

Just had 2 character resets, rarely ever happens for me but since update it has already happened twice. One really annoyed me as I was fully geared with an M4!

 

Can somebody else give me an idea on what is happening with their characters and whether they are resetting because I feel the recent update may have something to do with this!

Stick to one (or a few) trusted servers. Don't play the lottery picking random ones. I have 2 pub hive ones I trust and a private, haven't had a reset for ages :)

There was DDOS attack that occurred almost the entire day yesterday and ended around 8pm US Central Time. I didn't play at all till the DDOS attack ended (I watched movies from 11am to 8pm at night so I could play). Anyways if you were playing around noon yesterday, then that might be your problem, or idk. You also have to play on correct servers. ANY "Multiplay:" or "gameservers.com" are always super safe servers. If you play on servers that are called "the chicken burrito" or just something random, those servers are the least bit safe.

 

Or it might just be bad luck. (FWI they have a scheduled character wipe for EVERYONE 3-6 weeks from now for the 2015 year after they add in the 0.53 update that fixes loot spawning and such.) just thought you should know.

Hey man

Yesterday the servers were not working correctly, if you logged in at that time, it may have caused the reset

 

another thing is, some servers are not connected to the central hive(by error) and if you keep joining those servers you will reset everytime you log to it(or any other)

 

choose a server, give it a few laps, disconnect, reconnect, check if everything is the same as you left, and stick it to your favorites

There's a few things that you need to be aware of.

1: Being private and public servers, 1st/3rd person servers and 1st person only servers.

2: The DDOS attacks yesterday, if you played during that time and if the servers connected to the main hive could have wiped your previous saved data.

3: Bugged servers (Should be reported) that are failing to connect to the main hive thus making you start fresh every time. Continuing to play on said servers and if the server so happens to get a connection to the hive while you're still on the server, your new default will override your previous character.

4: Joining a server that has just restarted can cause you to wipe (make sure the server has been up and running for a good few minutes after a restart.

4: Just plain bad luck, it happens some times you just get wiped, it's a known bug and has happened to many people, myself included.
