therandomredstone 432 Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) Before you could loot up a server for everything it had then wait for it to reset and go back and reloot those same areas for more loot. Now I feel like upon server reset the server doesn't spawn in any new loot. I've server hopped about 30 times in a place with barracks and haven't even found a damn hand gun. WTF?? Someone explain please. These servers that you are hopping to and from, are persistent. This is how persistent works from their birth:When a persistent server is FIRST created, there is normal loot, but as time goes by, and people go through cities like Cherno and electro and berinzino, those places upon restart do not get new loot. The places with ALL the loot (usually CRAMMED TOGETHER LIKE A BI**H) are the places that people RARELY go to. So this is how these servers think, "ok so these towns are always looted and there is no loot, ill just place this loot in this forgotten bunker/barn" the server rethinks this every restart, and since these areas are forgotten or not looted, the loot stays every restart and new loot is added. So virtually these 'heavenly places' just gather more and more loot as time goes by. So if you want servers with loot they cant be persistent, unless you want to hunt down these mythic temples. vprgtsr001 6 Posted December 19, 2014 It is this weird feeling man. I get a little anxiety, trying to move quickly but trying to be thorough making sure I get the best of what's available. Like which items are here, which ammo is available... a lot of back and forth, but trying to hurry UP! The worse, was that the building I was in had an improvised sack filled up with gear, no body around, like 'wth happened here' LOL Which led to an idea, which was to stuff the loose items into the bags and look thru everything that way. If someone came in, they wouldn't know exactly right away. But really curious to see how spawning will work going forward, for me it is the basis of the gam. I too looting the military barracks get anxiety. Died once when i watched for a while to make sure noone was around. 15 or so minutes. i guess someone spawned inside the barrack, i ran in and got shot in the face, didnt have my weapon out, foolish. Other time i ran in and got killed by someone who was prone, KOS me, i think he was camping it out just killing server hoppers and others looting the barracks. But what you said about stuff in backpacks. I assume im not the only one that does this either but i will fill up the bags with the crap in hopes of finding good items under them. which in case has happened a few times, finding drum mags, pristine scopes, and pristine hardware. The base by vybor has been insane with guns. There will be 50+ ak's sks's and hunting rifles. hand guns too. but rarely a mag or ammo. i assume thats always looted. But there is actually something I like about this risk of hanging around these explosions, it's kinda like robbing a store and trying to get in and out, I know that sounds criminal and horrible, but if you hadn't found a can of food in a few hours and you stumble across this sort of thing? It's like "damn should I even stop to eat? how much food should I take?" there are so many quick decisions, and you are always worried someone else is there, or on their way. I hope they learn something from these glitches and implement something to mimic that feeling, even if it's like a store in game at random locations, meant to be found and looted.

DayZoey 110 Posted December 20, 2014 (edited) OP: I'm server hopping and can't get awesome gear to KOS bambis on the coast. Me Yeah I was kind of taken aback when my friend and I went in to the Berezino Lumber Mill's office building and found a treasure trove of food, clothing, backpacks, ammunition and a couple guns. Though from what I'm reading, persistent loot is a good thing and may help bring focus of the game away from easy picking areas like airfields and whatnot. What am I saying? People actually scavenging small towns and hamlets for supplies, heresy! Edited December 20, 2014 by DayZoey
