U.G.N - Jedi Panda 1319 Posted July 1, 2012 Hi guys,I have a good computer which uses the GTX 680 Kepler GPU, it should be able to stonk DayZ as it does with BF3. But I get really low fps in DayZ. I have the settings up high, but surely the card is more than capable of giving good frame rates at high settings? I am getting bewteen 15-25 fps. I can turn the graphics settings down and i get around 60 fps, but surely something must be wrong here ? I would have thought this card would handle everything at high or very high settings ??Spec:Win7 64 bitIntel 3930kASUS Sabertooth X7932 GB Corsair RAMGTX 680OCZ Max IOPS SSD6x 2TB RE4GP RAID
unrated (DayZ) 0 Posted July 1, 2012 This is a known issue. Problems belongs to the servers not to the 'clients'. The poor performance could change if you try to join some other servers. If you could try a server which actually is going to restart you'll see the changes. Anyway you could wait for the new 1.7.2 update which should be released last monday. "* [FIXED] Daylight calculations causing slight FPS issue* [FIXED] Animal AI routines consuming large amounts of FPS (now in line with Infected AI routines, reduced FPS usage)[FIXED] Use of "allMissionObjects" causing performance issue on clients (new engine command "entities" used to improve FPS on clients)"e: make sure u got the latest beta patch and dayz mod version. but i think u already did :shy:

It gets frequently restarted and it's kept up to date with the patches...I cant (can but wont) play on other server as all our team members play on our server. According to one member he is using a GTX 580 and gets around 100 fps with all settings on High. So how with a GTX 680 do I get 20 fps I dont know... :(I can try going to a different server and testing what FPS i get, if I get good fps there then something must be wrong with our server?? Ovrclck 21 Posted July 2, 2012 I had this problem last night. For whatever reason, my frames dropped instantly to around 10-15 from 50-60. As soon as erased my launch options and left " -mod=@dayz -nosplash " My frames are back to normal..Just something to look at.

Reo 26 Posted July 6, 2012 anyone else have a fix for this? I'm having pretty much the same problem. The only way is to substitute you 680 with my 4870. As soon as your 680 arrives I'll send out my 4870 ^^
shiromikan 217 Posted July 6, 2012 Have you restarted you computer? Have you updated your drivers?
Tordenskiold 2 Posted July 6, 2012 More or less the same problem. All other games i can set the settings to max and enjoy smooth fps. But in Dayz it's sometimes terrible. Allmost gamebreaking sometimes. Having said that, sometimes it's smooth and all is well. So it is a server issue. No doubt there.

I have a 580 and I don't get anywhere near that unless I turn some stuff off/down, like post processing. 680 should deff be a lot better tho...

Then start upping settings until you get them as high as you can at the desired FPS. Shadows and Post Processing would go last. PP is quite ugly anyway. The engine is a bit unoptimized. It takes quite a system (in 2010 standards) to run smoothly all the time.
