Where did the rotten fruit go?

Is it just me that misses all the rotten fruit? I haven't seen ONE rotten kiwi since far back In time. There are only fresh ones! Know let me tell you why I think this before you argument against me ;)

With all of the rotten fruit, people became more desperate Of finding food then they (or we) are now. Of corse there's the caned food. But know we have plenty of both. Plus cereals, rise and powders milk ect. I just miss that feeling of desperation of finding some food befor you die from starvation. People don't need to care about the food anymore. You just eat til your Hydrated, Energized and healthy and or stuffed. Then you run around looking for people to shoot or just doing nothing. But if almost every fruit you found was rotten, and there's less of the other food stuff (like rise and powdered milk). Then you would think more of what you eat and if you are gona save it til later. Because as I said. It feels like everyone's hydrated and energized afte only 5 minutes of playing. At least I was today after I got killed by a hacker.

What do you guys think. Don't you think DayZ would be more interesting if there was less food over all. I mean we are starting to get farming in the game. One more reason to start a farm, because you actually need food since you nearly can't find any when your looting. This would then increase the amount of farmers AND bandits. But the bandits have a "valid" reason to kill you because they need the food!

All the rotten fruits and vegetables are gone for now, because basically what persistence and loot respawn will ultimately be, is that items will degrade over time. Like clothes and various items will go from "pristine" to "badly damaged", and then when "ruined", will disappear to make place for a new item to spawn. Eventually the same will be applied to fruits and vegetables, and they'll get to "rotten" state before degrading and disappearing for new things to spawn.

It does seem a little odd how you can grow tomatoes and they'll turn from ripe to rotten within a matter of a minute or so, yet pick it and leave it on the ground and it'll stay pristine until it's lost in a reboot.

Everything is gone for now, except rotten apples, you can get them randomly from apple trees.

 

Edit: Well... not 100% sure if 0.50 or 0.51 about the tree thing, sorry.
